Is The Edison pet-friendly?
We welcome pets with no breed or weight restrictions. Each apartment may have up to two pets (dogs and/or cats). Pet deposits are $300 per pet, and pet rent is $40 per pet. Our community also features an enclosed pet relief area.
How do I get to class?
The Edison is less than a mile from UNR campus, making it a quick walk, bike ride, or drive. We’re also conveniently located on the PACKtransit bus route for easy access.
How far away is Tesla?
The Tesla Gigafactory is about a 20-minute drive from The Edison!
What is included in a furnished apartment?
Our furnished apartments include a full-size bed, couch or chair (depending on floor plan), coffee table, dresser, and side table. The furniture package starts at $125 per month.
What amenities does The Edison offer?
The Edison has a wide range of amenities and features built with you in mind, including a 24-hour double-height fitness center, two resident courtyards (where you can find a hot tub, outdoor grills, and views of the city), private study rooms, secured bike storage, electric vehicle charging stations, and so much more.
Is there high-speed internet available?
Yes! Our community is equipped with Sound Wi-Fi. Sound is a premier Wi-Fi provider, specializing in Wi-Fi services for student housing and multifamily communities nationwide. Sound offers unlimited bandwidth, a no-dead-zone guarantee, 24/7 customer support, and so much more.
Are there designated parking spots?
Controlled-access reserved parking spaces are limited. Contact us for availability and pricing. Street parking is also available.
What energy-efficient features are incorporated into The Edison?
The Edison’s apartments will be equipped with Energy Star appliances, low flow water efficient fixtures, LED lighting, and smart thermostats.
How does LEED Gold Certified benefit me as a renter?
LEED Gold Certified means we are proficient in our sustainability movement. Being LEED Gold Certified doesn’t only pertain to all The Edison’s energy efficient features, but also promises to create healthier spaces with cleaner air, and access to daylight that are free from harmful chemicals in paints and finishings.

Will The Edison host any resident events or activities?
Absolutely! At The Edison, community comes first. You can expect to be a part of events and activities at least once a month, where you’ll have the chance to meet your neighbors, and get to know The Edison’s team members.
How soon can I reserve an apartment?
You can reserve your new home today! Just fill out an application, contact the office to fill out your Reservation Agreement with all your apartment preferences, and pay the reservation deposit. Once your application has been approved, just wait for your apartment assignment and exact move-in date. Start your application here.
Do we need Renter’s Insurance?
Our company requires that all residents have $100k liability coverage. For your convenience, we offer a plan to fulfill this requirement. The cost for this plan is $17 per person per month (through 2026). You may waive this coverage if you already have liability insurance through another provider however, you must submit a copy of your policy for review so we can ensure it meets our property requirements. Opting out of plan coverage and submission of an alternative policy must be done within our portal https://portal.confirminsurance.com/s/.
We also offer Personal Contents Coverage (PCON) for $5.50 per person per month (through 2026). Though this is not mandatory, if you would like to waive this coverage you must opt out of the plan within our portal https://hra.confirminsurance.com/ppp-opt-out.
What is Boom?
Build your credit by paying your rent on time! Boom is a service that enables you to build your credit by simply paying your rent on time. This means no loans, no credit cards, and no high-interest rates. Pay your rent on time each month and Boom will take care of the rest. Please let the office know if you have any questions!
What is an RV Index?
The RV Index is a risk score based on several factors. It is an innovative move in qualifying criteria used to screen and qualify applicants and guarantors. By using this inclusive index opposed to our prior practice, we take a step toward future industry standards of fair practice. Depending on your property, an RV index of 40 or 50 will need to be achieved. Instead of just credit score and income, the index looks at several factors such as: 1. Payment history on all trade lines 2. Ratio of rent to income 3. Ratio of debt to income 4. Collections 5. Ratio of positive to negative credit lines.
